1. What is your favorite thing about writing fiction? Least favorite?

Writing fiction is an incredible challenge in that you’ve got to make it real — the story, the characters, the world they move around in. That’s what I like best about it. It’s both terrifying and wonderful to have all that responsibility, and all that freedom, to build a convincing and compelling reality inhabited by people who don’t feel like paper dolls.

Here’s a little interview I did for Ultimate YA, where I discuss the challenges of writing fiction and reveal my fondness zombie apocalypse novels. (Because of course my love of all things zombie-related was a complete secret up until now. Yeah.)
